ABF Educational Hub 0-11 in Sforzacosta

The ABF Educational Hub 0-11 in Sforzacosta (Macerata, Italy) represents a significant urban renewal and regeneration project, transforming the former “G. Natali” primary school building and establishing a 0-6 Childhood Center. This initiative, promoted by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, is an exemplary model of public-private collaboration, aimed at revitalizing and developing an entire community.

The Project

The architectural project was designed by the BDR Bureau studio in Turin (Italy), led by architects Alberto Bottero and Simona Della Rocca, who won an ideas competition organized by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation for talents under 35.

This regeneration effort was conceived to create a flexible, innovative educational environment that highlights art, music, and digital literacy as tools for nurturing talent and fostering growth. The final outcome is not merely a school but an educational center open to the community, designed to be a point of reference for children and families even beyond school hours.

GAM Furniture for the 6-11 School

GAM furniture was selected for its functionality and its ability to harmoniously blend into the educational spaces of the ABF Educational Hub 0-11. The choice of modular, flexible furniture allows the spaces to be adapted for various educational activities, facilitating an innovative approach to learning and enabling children to explore and interact freely.

GAM furnished the spaces within the 6-11 primary school, including:

Classrooms and workshops, composed of distinct areas tailored to diverse activities, supporting a wide range of experiences.

Common areas and corridors, designed to provide students and teachers with opportunities for informal interaction.

Garden and outdoor spaces, created as fundamental resources for the Hub, supporting both school and extracurricular experiences, and enhancing the Hub’s role as a truly open and inclusive community center.
