Gesù Fanciullo
Il giardino degli aceri negundi: outdoor space for kindergarten
GAM transforms the outdoor spaces of nurseries and preschools into educational and relational places. Places where children meet, experience movement and play, discover the natural environment and learn how to take care of it.
For the Gesù Fanciullo preschool in Rosà (Vicenza), the new open-air space ‘Il giardino degli aceri negundi’ was created.
The Green Classroom
The green classroom is a place equipped for outdoor learning. A wooden surface and simple equipment and furnishings define a multifunctional and flexible space.
A well-defined place, open and cosy, that supports the continuity of educational experiences between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Children's Garden
The children's garden at the Gesù Fanciullo kindergarten is a space that is also suitable for children who do not yet walk.
Wooden surfaces partly bordered by low guards provide safety for children who are crawling or taking their first steps.
Small structures reinterpret and vary the objects designed by Emmi Pikler to support the first experiences of movement.
The meeting place
The meeting square is welcoming and inclusive. It is a place designed for children of all ages, which also makes room for adults.
There are no benches, but wooden bases at different heights, not just for sitting. For standing and lying down, for playing, reading and resting.
